I presume your script works if you export a smaller number of records? If so, it could be that you've run out of space on the file system. Try running the job and monitor the disk usage with a "df -k" to see if it is running out of space. Alternatively, you could have exceeded the maximum size allowed for files on that file system.
There is a setting on UNIX which determines this.
